Dan Winter’s Cottage and Ancestral Home

Dan Winter’s Cottage was where the decision was made to form the Orange Order was made after The Battle of the Diamond in 1795. The cottage with its living quarters, spirit grocers and weaving loom can still be viewed today in its original condition; it was built in 1665. It is believed to be the longest thatched cottage in Ireland.
