10.30am - 12.30pm Visit Armagh Planetarium

Trek the stars and discover the universe in Ireland’s first full domeoh thats  3D digital theatre at Armagh Planetarium.  The Planetarium’s new projection system accurately recreates the beauty of the night sky and will take you on voyages to distant worlds. You can travel to the International Space Station, outwards to Mars and watch the latest space news in real time. 

12.30pm - 1.30pm Lunch
Sample some of our fine local fayre at any one of the excellent range of restruants in the City.

1.30pm - 3.30pm Visit the Armagh Obs
ervatory

A modern astronomical research institute adjacent to the Planetarium.  Founded in 1790 by Church of Ireland Archbishop Richard Robinson as part of an ambitious plan to found a university in the City, the Observatory is one the UK and Ireland’s leading scientific research establishments. 

Outside the Astropark is a scale model of the universe, which you can stroll around and discover some of the amazing phenomena in our Solar System, Galaxy and beyond.  The Observatory’s 14 acres of landscaped gardens include sundials, historic telescopes and telescope domes.
